Built by an Imperial medical graduate
who understood the science.

Zeitgeber exists because nobody was solving this problem with real science.

Why I built Zeitgeber

"I built Zeitgeber because I had the medical knowledge to solve a problem nobody else was solving."

I studied medicine at Imperial College London. After qualifying, I went into strategy consulting at BCG, advising healthcare companies and private equity firms.

But shift work was never abstract to me. Having so many friends and family who work shifts, I saw first-hand what broken sleep does to people I care about. Shift work shaped my life long before I understood the science behind it. The sleep apps they tried assumed everyone goes to bed at 10pm. The standard advice was to "maintain a consistent bedtime," which is impossible on a rotating rota.

I had the medical training to understand the science. I had the consulting rigour from BCG to build something structured. And I had 28+ peer-reviewed papers showing exactly what works. But nobody was putting it in people's hands.

So I built the thing. Every recommendation in Zeitgeber traces back to published research. No wellness fluff. No guesswork.

If you work shifts, you deserve a plan that actually fits your life.

Background

Medical degree (MBBS) from Imperial College London (MD-equivalent, 3rd out of 313 in finals). Strategy consulting at BCG, advising healthcare companies and private equity. BSc Medical Sciences with Global Health from Imperial, including psychedelic research. VC experience at Neo Kuma Ventures in psychedelic healthcare investing.

Zeitgeber combines those two worlds: the medical education to understand the science, and the consulting rigour to build something that actually works.

Zeit·ge·ber /ˈtsaɪtˌɡeɪbər/ · German

"Time-giver." In chronobiology, a zeitgeber is an external environmental cue - light, temperature, meal timing - that synchronises your internal biological clock to the world around it.

The word felt right. Because that is exactly what the app does: it gives you the right cue, at the right time, to help your biology adapt to the schedule you actually work.

What we stand for.

Evidence over opinion.

Every feature in Zeitgeber is anchored to published research. If we cannot point to a paper, we do not make the claim. No wellness cliches, no unverified biohacking, no guesswork dressed up as science.

Privacy by design.

Your shift schedule and sleep data are yours. Zeitgeber runs entirely offline - nothing is stored on a server, nothing is shared with third parties, nothing leaves your device. Not because we had to build it that way. Because it is the right way.

Built for real rotas.

This is not a generic sleep app with a "shift worker mode" bolted on. It was designed from the ground up for real shift patterns: police, nursing, factory, transport, emergency services, and more. We understand the difference between a long day, a short night, and a continental rotation, because the science is clear on each one.
